ROUTINE BLOOD APPOINTMENTS WILL CONTINUE ALONG WITH NURSE APPOINTMENTS

We are following national guidance that advises all GP practices are to reduce the number of patients visiting the practice in order to protect patients in our community. This does not mean you will not be seen face to face following a telephone appointment with one of our team.

In order to prevent transmission of the Corona Virus we have taken the decision to book a telephone appointment for anyone requesting a GP appointment over the next few months. Our GP’s can then book any patients they need to see into a face to face appointment. Nurse appointments will be booked face to face.

We would ask that any patient attending for an appointment with a member of our nursing team would contact the practice if they are feeling unwell before their appointment,  particularly with a persistent cough or fever. We may still be able to see you, but this will be with additional precautions to protect our staff and patients.

If you are asked to attend, our reception staff will ask a few questions before you book in, to ensure that you are well and not displaying any signs of Corona Virus. I hope you will not be offended, we are simply trying to protect other patients who may be in the practice and our team.

As a practice we see many patients on a weekly or monthly basis who have underlying health conditions. These patients are often suffering from conditions such as COPD, cancer, diabetes, they may be on treatment for heart disease or have a compromised immune system.  We need to ensure that these patients can safely attend the practice for their regular appointments , to be cared for by our team.

We hope that you understand the reasons why we have taken this decision. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact our practice manager Zoe Trevascus.

Thank you for all your messages of support for our team and the NHS at this difficult time.
