We wanted to let you know that the practice will be making some significant changes to our telephony and IT clinical systems over the coming weeks.
This is to enable us to provide you with a better patient experience and ensure that we are running a safe, accessible practice fit for the future.
The first of these changes will be the upgrade to our existing telephone network. We have had the practice re-cabled over the weekend and the new telephones will go live on Tuesday 26th March 2024.
To support the team here, we are providing staff training for the new system. This will mean the practice will be closed on the afternoon of Tuesday 26th March 2024 from 1pm. During this time the practice will redirect your calls to Practice Plus Group who will be able to arrange any urgent care needs. For routine matters please wait until the practice re-opens on Wednesday 27th March 2024.
The options when you call the practice will change, so it is important that you listen to the new options available to ensure you choose the correct extension. It will take time for the staff and you as a patient to use and understand the new system. Please be patient with the team.
In addition, we are offering a new extension for patients to request urgent appointments. This means your call will be prioritised by the practice. Please ensure you ONLY use this option for an urgent appointment request. All appointments will be triaged in the normal way by our staff to ensure that you are offered the right appointment and / or advice. If you choose this option and we do not consider your appointment to be an on the day urgent request, we will offer you a 3 day or routine appointment.
We hope these changes will enable patients to have better access to the practice and the improvements will ensure that we can continue to provide a seamless service.
