Changes to our Clinical System – Prescriptions

Dear Patient,

It is important you read this update. THIS WILL EFFECT YOUR PRESCRIPTION ORDERING

In the next few weeks, we will be making a change to our clinical system. This is the IT system we use to hold patient information and patient notes. Through this system we record all of your consultations, arrange prescriptions and hold your medical record. You access this system as a patient through the NHS App and Patient Partner.

This will mean we are unable to process/ print or send any prescriptions between 29th May and 8th June 2024.

The practice may issue you with a prescription for 2 months’ worth of medication when you next request a repeat prescription. Please check this when you collect from the pharmacy.

You may also find that when you request your prescription the practice has already done this for you, and it is waiting for collection at the pharmacy.

To ensure you have no concerns, we have spoken to local pharmacies, and they are expecting this change so should not be surprised if you receive 2 months’ worth of medication.

Please ensure that any repeat medications due between 29th May and 8th June 2024 are requested from us no later than Friday 17th May 2024. It is important you have enough medication as we will be unable to provide you with a prescription the week of 27th May through to 8th June 2024.

You can request this at the reception desk or online at www.barnfieldhillsurgery.co.uk or by emailing us at d-icb.bhsprescriptions@nhs.net
