The NHS is one big family!

This winter, a new NHS campaign is helping people get the right care, in the right place, at the right time – and keeping emergency services free for those who need them most this winter.

The NHS have produced a video to help explain some of the NHS services on offer for patients to access, without needing to wait in your GP surgery or A&E.

Pharmacy First

Community pharmacists are trained to manage minor illnesses and offer some prescription medicines, if needed, for seven common conditions, like UTIs, sore throats and sinusitis, insect bites and skin conditions.  They can even provide oral contraceptives and the emergency contraceptive pill. You can just pop in and be seen the same day.

The NHS App

You can order repeat prescriptions, manage appointments, receive reminders and even check your health records – all at the tap of a screen. And also access NHS advice via the information pages.

Contacting your GP

Online GP contact forms mean you can submit your request through our practice’s website and out  team will get back to you, with advice or the offer of an appointment, without needing to call. You can also just call our team for some advice in where to get help.

NHS 111

• Through the phone, online, or the NHS App, NHS 111 gives trusted, medical help for urgent health needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can assess and direct you to the right local health service when your GP is unavailable.

The NHS wants to see you and there is a range of ways to access health services to get the care you need. Our trained team can offer advice and make sure you are seen when you need to be and by the correct professional. We can signpost you to our GP team, Nurse team, MH and wellbeing Team, physio or other community services such as pharmacy first. The aim of signposting is to get you the quickest point of access, to meet your needs, with the right person to help you.

Your NHS is closer than you think.
