Taking care of your mind as well as your body is really important while staying at home because of Corona Virus (COVID-19).
You may feel bored, frustrated or lonely. You may also be low, worried, anxious, or concerned about your finances, your health or those close to you.
It’s important to remember that it is OK to feel this way and that everyone reacts differently. Remember, this situation is temporary and, for most of us, these difficult feelings will pass. Staying at home may be difficult, but you are helping to protect yourself and others by doing it.
One of the things you can do to self care is give yourself a mood boost and stay active whilst you are at home.
If your mental health is suffering below are some tips and advice to help you cope and sources of support. Make sure you get further support from the practice if you feel you need it.

Bereavement Support
Losing a loved one to Corona Virus can be a very difficult experience. Often you are separated from your loved one and may not have seen them for sometime before their passing. As human beings we often want to hold a hand to comfort a loved one or be there to say goodbyes. It is important that you get support if you have been affected by the death of a friend or relative, particularly if you were unable to be there to support in the way you would have expected too. Cruse have a comprehensive service to support individuals and families affected by bereavement.
We also need to remember that in our communities we have many patients living in care homes and at home who are nearing end of life. As a practice we will do everything we can to support, providing palliative care in the normal way and ensuring that you feel supported. This is however a time of great uncertainty and you may not be able to visit friends or relatives who are living in care homes or are in hospital. Marie Curie is an excellent resource to help you understand the arrangements for palliative care and support and to support friends and relatives in managing bereavement.
The practice is always here to support patients and carers who need our help at this difficult time. Please call reception to speak to us.
