Barnfield Hill Surgery

Medicine Supply and Brexit

As you are likely aware in recent months there has been a number of press stories advising that there is a risk of your medication not being available following the UK’s departure from the European Union on 31st October 2019 (BREXIT).

We can reassure patients that the government has a number of contingency plans in place and that a central supply of medicines has been created in order to create a national stock pile of medications before the October 31st deadline.

This means that you do not need to request any additional medication from the surgery. Patients are asked not to stockpile medication at home to ensure pharmacies maintain adequate supplies for all patients.

The surgery will only be providing your usual prescription each month, please do not be offended if we refuse requests for additional medication in order for you to have a spare supply.
